- All-Hazards I: Identifying and Preparing for Potential Emergencies
and Disasters
This course provides an introduction to disasters, how to identify them, how they
can impact a community, and how to prepare and respond to them. Dialysis and transplant
facilities can use these courses to orient their staff to disaster basics and assist
facilities in developing patient education materials on disaster preparedness. Note

- All-Hazards II: Conditions for Coverage and Emergency Preparedness
The purpose of this course is to provide an overview of the Conditions for Coverage
relating to emergency preparedness, and offer options for dialysis facilities to
incorporate resources into their disaster plans. Note this link will take you to

in order to take the course and recieve 1.0 CEU.
- Caring for ESRD Patients in a Disaster
This course provides an overview of End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) and the treatment
options available for ESRD patients: hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis and transplant.
Additionally, this course addresses the fundamental assessment of ESRD patients
in an emergency situation, including discussion of diet and fluid considerations.
